Michael was born in Woodstock, New York in 1969. Woodstock was the focus of the revolution against the mainstream and an epicentre for art and expression. Being born into such an environment helped shape his creativity. After graduating, Michael married his girlfriend Melissa and they moved to Aspen. Natural locations and lighting are central to Michael’s photography. Since a child, he has been a natural observer. “There is so much beauty around us every day. We just need to learn to stop and see what is right there in front of our eyes.” Michael McCabe has shot fashion and editorial stories over the past 10 years. He has worked for some of the worlds’ leading publications such as ELLE and Maxim. He travels extensively in Ecuador, The Galapagos Islands, Mexico, The Caribbean and Europe searching for the best locations. In recent years, Michael has expanded into the motion picture industry as a director and cinematographer. He is involved in various projects including a film being shot in the Congo.
I received my degree in Environmental Science from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.
